Engraving Information

Our skilled engravers will lay-out your engraved message in a tasteful and attractive manner. You may see samples on the various items throughout the Site. Simply type in the wording in the spaces provided, and we will create a beautiful recognition piece for you. The engraving charges are determined per/line - not per/letter and in many cases are included in the price of the item. An average line for most plaques consists of a maximum of 30-40 engraved characters, however some items may differ due to plate size. If you would prefer to set-up your own layout, or choose specific type-styles, you may email, fax or phone us and we will work with you to achieve your ideas.

Logo Engraving and Artwork Requirements: Custom Artwork, whether it be a company logo or department insignia, can be added to many of the engraved products on our website. This is the ultimate way to make your personalized award even more magnificent. The cost of this service, if properly formatted artwork is provided, is only $25.00 additional to the cost of your award. However if the artwork provided is substandard and needs excessive modification, the additional art fee would be $60.00 per hour, billed in 15 minute increments. Our High-Tech Laser Engraver engraves exactly what it sees, unfortunately it does not see colors other than black or white. Laser engraving is much different than laser printing. An image that looks good on a printed paper, may not engrave well on a product. Laser engraving uses a burning technique to burn the image into the product, thus burning each pixel regardless of the shade or color found on the original artwork. The engraver cannot engrave shades of gray. It is either engraved or not engraved (black or white). If you do not have a high resolution image and must use one from your company’s website, please be aware that the end result may not look professional. We can re-design the image for you, with artwork that you provide. The graphic design charge for this service is $60/hour, billable in 15 minute increments. While in many cases we can use this type of image - the results - even after artist manipulation, will not be the greatest and the cost will be high. We will be happy to evaluate your logo quality before instituting any artwork prep fees other than the initial $25.00. Also, the $25.00 fee will apply for the entire order (1 time charge) - not each individual piece, plus we will keep it in our files for future usage at no additional charge!  How do you know if your artwork is acceptable so as not to incur the additional fee?

The BEST artwork is: Black and white vector artwork in one of the file formats below: .ai (Adobe Illustrator), .eps (Encapsulated Postscript), .cdr (CorelDraw), Black and White images that are scanned at 600dpi or greater Vector Artwork that has any text converted to outlines or curves   Unacceptable for Laser Engraving: Black and White images that are scanned at less than 300 dpi, Color images Grayscale images, Photographs, Images from websites, Images that are 72dpi, and are resized to 300dpi or greater, Scans of patches or badges, Faxes of patches or badges.
